Community-based Event to Offer Health Screenings, Panel Discussions, Culinary Demonstrations and More Unique Explorations into Cannabis and Culture
DENVER, Colo. – March 6, 2018 – The first annual RiNo Cares: Cannabis Health & Wellness Fair, featuring health & wellness professionals, cannabis industry experts, and independent businesses and creatives in Denver’s River North (RiNo) Art District, is scheduled for Sunday, April 15, 2018, from 10:00AM until 6:00PM at the Cultivated Synergy Denver Events Center, located at 2901 Walnut Street.
The non-consumption 21+ event, co-sponsored by RiNo Supply Company, Sensi Magazine and Canna Health Clinic, will offer health screenings, care provider registrations, culinary demonstrations, experience-led discussions, locally made food and goods, and creative demonstrations surrounding cannabis culture. Admission is free to the public, and a portion of the sponsor proceeds will be donated to provide resources and medical care for military veterans in Colorado.
“We’re very excited to bring the first Cannabis Health and Wellness Fair to Denver,” said Jared Penman, owner of RiNo Supply Company. “As the medicinal benefits of cannabis continue to be researched and proven, we are looking forward to providing a platform and forum for experts and the public to learn more about cannabis and its myriad of uses,” he added.
For the inaugural 2018 fair, RiNo Cares has partnered with local community members, businesses, care providers, industry experts and media outlets to encourage dialogue about cannabis. Confirmed panel discussion experts include:

Dr. Ronald Frenkel, M.D. – Dr. Frenkel earned his medical degree from the University of Connecticut and completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Frenkel will be a panel participant and will be sharing his extensive clinical experience as well as meeting with attendees interested in obtaining their medical marijuana “red card”.
Jordan Helene Person, LMT, LPN – Jordan Person is the Executive Director of the Denver chapter of NORML and Founder of Primal Therapeutics LLC. Campbell’s second play, debuting in April 2018, is “Honorable Disorder”, inspired in part by his work with veterans in Griffin, Georgia in 2016.
The panel discussion will be led by Moderator Gabrielle Bryant. Gabrielle Bryant is a freelance multimedia journalist, host and Emmy Award-winning politics producer. When she isn’t covering local elections and the legislative session, her work spotlights Colorado culture, community and arts.
The 2018 RiNo Cares: Cannabis Health & Wellness Fair will include free health care and provider screenings for medical cannabis card registrations. Dr. Ron Frenkel, M.D., will be available to meet with attendees regarding how cannabis may help benefit their medical conditions. An additional charge of $16.10 can be paid with a debit or credit card. Medical records required for higher plant counts and for patients under age 23.
There will also be a two-part culinary demonstration by J. McCoy, a Denver-area Johnson & Wales graduate and USPCA-certified Personal Chef specializing in incorporating cannabis into home cooking.
